Each year a variety of Bible studies and book discussions are offered in the church building’s elegant parlor. Led by the pastor and/or lay leaders, study groups typically meet one evening each week. Depending on the curriculum, studies cover between three months and nine months of weekly meetings. Recent studies have included in-depth explorations of the prophets, the letters of Paul, and the New and Old Testaments more broadly. The pastor and lay leaders are always open to course study ideas.
We offer the the following studies:
An in-depth introductory course to Bible study, using a guide titled Disciple: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study, will meet every Friday from 9:15 AM to 11 AM, beginning October 4, 2019.
Aside from Bible studies, St. Paul’s organizes book studies:
- A Women’s Book Club meets on the fourth Friday of each month. The book and activities change each month. On September 27, 2019, at 6:30 PM, the group will discuss Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
- Wednesday Night Study Group will resume its discussion of What is the Bible? by Rob Bell on September 18, 2019, 7-8:30 PM.
All are welcome. No experience necessary. Contact the St. Paul’s UMC office at 631-261-0804 or by email to get your copy of the book(s) and for further details.
NEW STUDIERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!
