Adult Study

Each year a variety of Bible studies and book discussions are offered in the church building’s elegant parlor.  Led by the pastor and/or lay leaders, study groups typically meet one evening each week.  Depending on the curriculum, studies cover between three months and nine months of weekly meetings.   Recent studies have included in-depth explorations of the prophets, the letters of Paul, and the New and Old Testaments more broadly.  The pastor and lay leaders are always open to course study ideas.

CURRENTLY, we are offering two Bible studies:

  1. A study or the Book of Romans, which meets Friday mornings at 9:15.
  2. An in-depth introductory course to Bible study, using a guide titled Disciple: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study, meets every other Wednesday evening at 7:30.

Aside from Bible studies, St. Paul’s organizes book studies:

  • A yearlong study of Brian McLaren’s We Make the Road By Walking began on December 2, 2018.
  • A Women’s Book Club meets on the fourth Friday of each month.  The next series of meetings will explore Ann Lamott’s Almost Everything, starting in January 2019.
