During the month of October 2020: We wrote nonpartisan letters to eligible voters in swing states, encouraging them to exercise their constitutional right!

November 12, 2020, 7 PM: Attend the virtual Gala of New York Justice for Our Neighbors (JY FON), to support the organization’s mission to provide legal and other services to immigrants. Attendance is free (register here)—and informative!

Monday, October 5, 2020, 6-7PM: Zoom meeting of the North Shore Suffolk Parish Partners focusing on the UMC Mission New York Justice for Our Neighbors (NY JFON), a movement to facilitate legal services for immigrants. Rev. Paul Fleck, Executive Director of NY JFON, and Samantha Blecher, Staff Attorney with NY JFON, will present. More information is provided here.

Monday, September 14, 2020, 6-7PM: Zoom meeting of the North Shore Suffolk Parish Partners with guest Clyanna Lightbourn, Civil Rights Coordinator for Citizen Action of NY. August 22, 2020: Participated in a rally at the East Northport post office to protest cuts being made to the postal service.

Email campaign to Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand in support of bringing to the Senate floor a vote on the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which was approved by the House of Representatives. (July 2020)

Telephone and email campaign to demand that the Nassau County and Suffolk County District Attorneys put in place stronger measures of police accountability. (August 2020)
